COMMISSION PROCESS

Fill out the Commission Form (and any additional relevant reference images to jamilakesi@gmail.com if you’d like). Please give me grace and understand this is a one-woman, handcrafted operation and I may take some time to respond. I will do my best to send a detailed response within 3 business days. Responses might fall in your spam box so be sure to check there as well!

From there, we will discuss your garment/art, details, fabrics, embellishments, budget, potential fittings, timeframe, etc. If you reside in Chicago we might also discuss fittings. My typical turnaround time is 6-8 weeks depending on your project depth. This can be longer or shorter depending on its feasibility and my availability, but communication will always be a vital part of the process. Understand a one-of-a-kind piece needs specific types of time and attention :)

You will receive a sketch of your design along with an invoice detailing fabric/material, hardware and notion costs. You can see a general price list below - this is subject to fluctuation depending on fabric/material, hardware, labor estimate, etc. which will all be specified.

Once you approve the design and invoice, 50% non-refundable deposit accepted. This is when the clock starts and I can begin constructing your commission. 50% + shipping (calculated by weight) accepted upon project completion (via PayPal, Venmo, Cashapp, or Zelle)

Not all commissions will be accepted. In order for me to grow, and you to be the most satisfied, I must take on projects that fit my skillset and vision. Nonetheless, I appreciate you being here, and hope you find something in my designs that resonates with you <3

Ready-made garments are priced as-is. Commission orders will have an opportunity to discuss budget and see an itemized invoice.


RETURNS / REFUNDS / CANCELLATIONS

Returns are not accepted. Refunds only accepted on commissions that have not begun planning & production or on ready-made pieces that have not yet shipped.


REPAIRS

I will gladly repair any item that you have purchased from me for free! Aside from cases where total reconstruction must be done or a substantial amount of material added, it will be no cost to you! Send me an email, let me know how I can renew your piece, provide shipping to my Chicago studio (or drop-off if local), and I’ll take care of the rest.

I do not do any repairs outside of JK Atelier items.


SHIPPING

Standard shipping on ready-made items is $15. Shipping will be estimated for commissions upon completion (for total weight) and added as an additional line item on your second invoice.

Packages ship either USPS or UPS within 5 business days. If you have a carrier preference please send an email to [ jamilakesi@gmail.com ] immediately after ordering so that I can ship via your preference

We can arrange Chicago pick-up (Pilsen), just ask!
